Conrad Bigknife is a country music artist specializing in the traditional stylings of country music. Brought up with listening to Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and George Strait have spent a good part of his career developing his blended brand of country. Setting out to introduce and re-introduce country music to a long time and new fans of the genre are his goals at this point. "Being a huge fan of old-style country music doesn't make this feel like work but a privilege to get to do this every day." Being in the music business full-time has also lead to becoming a recording engineer and producer.
The New Album
This album is a conscious decision to throw away any self-imposed guidelines I had adopted along the way of what makes up “real” country music. There’s a song for a friend who lost a child, there’s songs that take light jabs at the sometimes silliness of love and there’s a couple of memories of honky-tonk nights. What makes it a country album more than anything, I think anyway, is the instruments and feel. It’s pretty raw, pretty open in spots because I wanted to keep the songs as they were written.
I work with great people who put their hearts into these songs, and I’m so grateful because I think these songs show who we are at this point in time. We love making music and I hope that shines.
We were fortunate to have Conrad Bigknife and his band play at the recent AFOA National Conference in Saskatoon. This group put on a dynamic show and got the delegates up and dancing with a collection of country, blues, and rock hits. We look forward to having them on board at our next event in Saskatchewan!!!
